4. A ROOM IN FATHER’S HOUSE

I went to bed praying and asking the Holy Spirit to show me rooms in the Father’s House. I saw a large, ornately carved, heavy, thick door with brass hinges and a doorknob. There was a dark stain on the door. I placed my hands on the doorknobs to pull open a door that was thick and very heavy. My flesh [body] felt weak so I gripped with two hands on the doorknob. The door slowly opened. I stepped into a room with the appearance of a garden at night. I saw a man kneeling in intense prayer who looked over at me as I walked in. I believe I was seeing Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. I sat down on the ground near Him and watched. He was along in the garden except for me.

Matthew 26:36-41 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Prayer in the Garden

36 Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” 37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38 Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”

39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.

40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

REFLECTION ON THE DREAM

The door symbolizes Jesus Christ on Calvary bearing the excruciating weight of the entire world’s sins; ornately carved. His being flogged and crowned of thorns; the brass hinges, the nails in His hand and feet; the doorknob, His side pierced, and the dark stain, His precious shed blood. The door also represents Jesus as the Door into His eternal Kingdom and wrestling to open it because Christ hadn’t been crucified yet on the Cross in the dream, yet in real life He has, which is why in the dream, I could wholeheartedly open the door with both hands. Also the weakness shown in trying to open the door shows that one cannot earn, through self-effort and good deeds, their way into heaven. Though true faith is displayed through good works, Christ and His shed blood is the Only Way to eternal life!

John 10:7-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus the Good Shepherd

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came [a]before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

John 14:1-6 New King James Version (NKJV)

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, [b]I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Ephesians 2:8-10 New King James Version (NKJV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
